When I’m itchin’ to find some new locations to shoot I obviously grab the closest subject to me and not only spend a day around town searching for the “look” that I’m after, but then spend the following day with a camera in front of my face trying to direct my toddler into the poses and areas I want him to go. As we all knows, with toddlers anything goes!
So we grabbed C’s first set of cowboy boots, ones he’s very proud of, and marched on out to the river spot I’d seen a few days earlier and was itching to get some test shots there. The results were gorgeous really. I love the way the trees filter the lighting and how the water in the river (which is about a foot deep at most) reflects the light. It’s a perfect spot to be this spring. Especially with a boy who doesn’t mind throwing rocks for hours on end.

And, as expected, this is how it ended…

I’ve decided to make a list of people who’d like to be my “test” subjects for new locations I might spot. As a test subject you will receive a free session and a free 8×10 print in exchange for signing a model release and understanding that I’ll be trying out locations I’ve not used before so it’ll be a little spontaneous as to how the style of the session goes. If interested, please email sarah@sarahanne.net and include the names, ages, and a picture of the children you have available.
